Designing

Our furniture designs benefit from over 40 years in the antique restoration trade. We use the knowledge acquired over this time to design beautifully proportioned furniture that is aesthetically pleasing and interesting.

It is the design stage where we bring together the selected woods characteristics , the construction and joinery techniques and the finish.

The Dumpty Table's initial design can be seen in the sketch to the right. It's a rough design highlighting the proportion of the table and the design of the side compartments. The design sketches are reworked a number of times until we are happy with every aspect of the piece.
